Digital Mandala, printed onto 290 gsm . 90% Bamboo Fibre/ 10% Cotton . natural white ( 42 x 42) cms.
Fusing the Inuit symbols of feathers, the Amerindian life-sustaining symbols of fish and the Chinese Yin/Yang symbol for balance in all things, a shield-like design emerged.
The black and white circles balance each other in alternating rings. The use of terracotta and blue refer to the earth and water in the centre. The fish are swimming from all four directions, going back to the centre to start another cycle of life. The feathers would represent the tribes and their responsibility in protecting these cycles as well as being part of them. A reminder that we are all responsible too.
Once framed, this would be a wonderful piece in any room, filled with meaning and respect for culture.
